Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre (FTMC) has been providing the local community with exceptional medical care for the past 30 years. Since opening our doors in 1985 the centre has seen many changes, but our focus has always remained the same; providing the highest quality health care for our patients.
Dr Stewart Hunter opened the practice in a small house opposite Cape Hawke Private Hospital. He was joined by Dr Garry Clemensen in 1990.
A purpose built medical centre was then opened in 1997 allowing us to cater for the growth of the Great Lakes and surrounding area.
The Practice has seven females doctors who provide general medical services alongside a Women’s Health Program, which focuses on annual check-ups, sexual health, family planning and women’s wellbeing.
Our goal is to provide the local community with comprehensive and compassionate health care. We have a strong focus on preventative health, assisting patients to maintain the highest possible quality of lifestyle.
As part of our ongoing quality program we appreciate any feedback on how we can improve our services. If you have a compliment or complaint we want to hear about it. Please feel free to speak to your Doctor, the practice manager, or another member of staff. Alternatively you can write to us.
